Jan 30, 2006 · 409 stainless is low grade stainless, and should be magnetic, so welding it should be easy. You can get a small roll of stainless wire at any good welding shop, and it should work OK. Try sticking a magnet to it. If it sticks, it should weld easy with just about any wire.
